Imagined families, contested childhoods: Doing gender as subversive deviances of children’s agency

چکیده

Recent ethnographies of childhood have shown that the current politics family and children led to new epistemological frameworks intersectional methodologies. These scholarly works broadened scope ethnographic inquiry beyond household or caregiver level encompass a wider socio-political economic context. They consider interruptions state regulations political economy on welfare in examining gendered parental practices child-rearing. This critical review, first, seeks explicate work intersectionality parenting embodiment gender, which unveils peculiarities intricate nature child-rearing Turkish Second, it distinguishes itself by drawing attention children’s agency as locus deviation resistance vis-à-vis moralizing ideologies regulative discourses.
